Gréta Salóme & Jónsi - Never Forget

Artist: Gréta Salóme & Jónsi
Song: Never Forget
Album: Eurovision Song Contest Baku 2012 (Click here to buy the album on Amazon)

I just watched this years Eurovision Song Contest. Sweden won and the country that I live in, Norway, came in last. I don't really care much about that because I discovered a good Icelandic song.
Gréta and Jónsi are quite good as a duet. I think their voices are great together.
I think the music is awesome too. It reminds me of symphonic metal, just without the metal part. The violin parts, which are also played by Gréta I think, are awesome. The drums are also really cool.
Gréta wrote both the lyrics and music for the song herself, which is another reason why I think it deserved to get higher than 20th place. According to what I could find on wikipedia, only 16 out of the 26 finalists are actually credited to have participated at all in the songwriting and most of them had the help of one or several professional songwriters. Amongst the ones who did no songwriting were: Loreen, who won, Jedward, Ivi Adamou and Roman Lob. They might be good singers and performers, but I think someone who actually writes their songs should get credit for that.

I hope you like it! If you watched, leave a comment about which song was your favorite :)
