I heard this for the first time today. The first thing that met my ear was the drums, which sound almost like a clock. Then came the dreamy-sounding keyboard.
I didn't quite know what to think about Lisa Dalbello's vocals at first, but then I heard what I guess is the pre-chorus, where the guitars come in, and that removed any doubts I might've had. Her voice is amazing when she sings like that.
I like how the chorus is kind of an anticlimax. Right after she nearly shouts "it's as plain as black and white", the chorus is almost a whisper with just that dreamy keyboard-sound and the drums in the background.
