How to listen to music

Since I'm going to post a lot of songs, I thought it would be a good idea to write a little about my approach to listening to music.

First you have to choose the kind of music you want to listen to. I mostly base this on how I'm feeling at the moment. When I'm angry I might listen to really heavy metal music and when I'm calm I might listen to some ballads. This of course varies greatly. Sometimes i listen to death metal even though I'm perfectly calm. You just have to find what works best for you, and what kind of music you like best when you feel a certain way.

The situation in which you listen to music will also be different from time to time. Sometimes you just play the music in the background while you are doing something else. When you do this you don't really get to listen much to the music because you are doing something else and focusing on that. It is still really fun though and it is a really good way to have fun while doing stuff you find boring.

Sometimes it can be great to just sit down and listen to the music. I find music much more enjoyable when I sit or lie down and focus only on the music. Try just closing your eyes and really listen to the music. Try to hear all the sounds there is to hear. I often feel as if I'm floating into the music. Just closing your eyes and trying to feel the music can be a great experience.

Another thing you can do is reading the lyrics while you are listening to the song. This might help you to get more meaning out of the song. This approach is particularly helpful with some genres of metal because it's hard to hear what the singer is singing. Even if you understand the singer perfectly it can still help to have the lyrics in front of you. At least it does for me.

It can be fun to search for new music once in a while. At least I do it. The reason I made this blog is for you to have an easy way to discover new music.

So that's some thoughts about how to listen to music. Now you can just sit back, close your eyes and drift away into your favorite music :)
